Janata Dal (United) President Nitish Kumar on Tuesday appointed Prashant Kishor as vice president of the party. By this appointment, Kishor has become the second most powerful leader in the party.
Prashant Kishor who have worked for many parties in the form of electoral strategists had recently joined the ruling party in Bihar.
Kishor is considered to be close to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
JDU spokesman K.C Tyagi said that the appointment of Kishore will help the party to broaden its base.
Earlier on September 16, Prashant Kishore had joined JDU.
Prashant Kishore was known as Narendra Modi’s election strategist during the Gujarat Assembly elections of 2012 and Lok Sabha elections in 2014. It is said that in 2014, he had a big role in changing BJP’s campaign to ‘Modi wave’.
Prashant later joined hands with the opponents of the BJP and played a role of JDU’s electoral strategist in the Bihar assembly elections in 2015, giving a huge victory to the alliance.
According to the report of the Indian Express, after the separation from the BJP in the establishment of the Indian Political Action Committee (I-Pac), BJP had campaigned for JDU in Bihar Assembly elections in 2015.
After the success of the JDU, RJD and Congress in General Elections , Nitish Kumar made Prashant Kishor his own adviser for the implementation of the schemes and programs. At that time, Kishore had the status of Cabinet Minister.
