Malvika Raj: Remember the young ‘Poo’ from Karan Johar’s 2001 hit Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (K3G)? She has turned back to industry almost after 18 years and definitely, she looks very interesting.
That young girl was who brought us famous dialogue “chandu ke chacha ne chandu ki chahi ko, chandni chowk me chatni chatai” is all grown up and is all set to debut in Bollywood with a Film “Squad”.
Malvika Raaj is going to star in action thriller ‘Squad’, opposite Danny Denzongpa’s son Rinzing.
She told Mumbai Mirror that her character is a fierce sniper in the film. “She’s very knowledgeable about weapons which is important to the storyline. There’s a lot of action and a little bit of romance with Rinzing,” she said.
Malvika Raaj is a niece of an actor Anita Raj. Malvika Raj and Rinzing happen to be childhood friends. Co-starring with Rinzing in Squad, the 25-year-old actress said, “We were in the same school and grew up in the same social circle. When we were young, we even attended each other’s birthday parties so now sharing the screen with him is going to be a lot of fun.”
‘Squad’ will be Malvika’s third film. First was Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and years later in 2017, she starred in the Telugu film ‘Jayadev’. Earlier It was also reported that Malvika has been signed opposite Emraan Hashmi in Captain Nawab, but there’s no update on the film as of yet.
Squad is produced by Nilesh Sahay, It will be directed by Jyoti Kapur. The film will be the first shot in Mumbai and later in Budapest.
